Baby Names for Couples is an iOS app that helps couples find baby names they both love. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information when you use it.

Baby Names for Couples uses a secure cloud backend (Supabase) to enable partner pairing and sync your experience across sessions. The following data is collected and stored on our servers:

We do not collect your email address, phone number, Apple ID, or any other contact information beyond the optional display name you choose to provide.

We do not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or any other device sensors.

We do not use any third-party analytics, usage tracking, or crash reporting services. Apple may collect anonymised diagnostic and performance data as part of their standard App Store services, subject to your device privacy settings. You can control this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements on your device.

Baby Names for Couples does not include any advertising networks, tracking frameworks, or third-party SDKs beyond the Supabase client library used for its backend.

Baby Names for Couples offers optional one-time purchases to unlock additional name collections and features. All payments are processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment details — Apple handles the entire transaction.

Baby Names for Couples supports real-time partner pairing, allowing two people to connect and discover mutual name matches together. When you use this feature, your display name is shared with the partner you connect with. This is necessary so your partner can see your name in the app.

Your individual swipe choices are not shown to your partner. Only mutual matches — names you both liked — are surfaced to both of you. Partner pairing is entirely opt-in; you can use Baby Names for Couples in solo mode without connecting to anyone.

When partners disconnect, each person retains their own purchase entitlements. Your swipe history and matches are preserved on our servers and can be restored if you reconnect.

We take the security of your data seriously. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS). Data at rest is stored on Supabase’s managed infrastructure, which uses encrypted storage and is protected by row-level security policies that restrict access to only your own data.

While no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information.

Baby Names for Couples uses Supabase as its backend database and authentication provider. Data is stored on Supabase-managed servers located in the European Union. Supabase’s privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.

If you are accessing Baby Names for Couples from outside this region, your data may be transferred to and stored in a different country. By using Baby Names for Couples, you consent to this transfer of information.

Baby Names for Couples is designed for use by adults — specifically, expectant parents. The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

Your data is stored on our servers for as long as you use the app. Deleting the app from your device does not delete your data from our servers.

To delete your data, use the Delete Account option in the app’s Profile screen. This permanently removes your display name, swipe history, match data, purchase records, and couple connection from our servers. The only thing retained is your anonymous device identifier (a random UUID with no personally identifiable information), which allows the app to function if you reinstall.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, under applicable data protection law (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR) you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you and request a copy of it.
• Rectify any inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You can update your display name directly in the app at any time.
• Erase your personal data. You can do this instantly using the Delete Account feature, or by contacting us.
• Restrict or object to certain processing of your data.
• Data portability — request your data in a structured, commonly used format.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as new features are introduced or our practices change. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Baby Names for Couples after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
