No. The app uses anonymous device-based identity. There is no sign-up form, email address, or login screen. You download the app and start immediately.
Yes. Baby Names for Couples is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions and no ads.
Tap the partner icon in the app and share an invite link with your partner by text, email, or any messaging app. Your partner taps the link and you are connected. Everything syncs from that point.
To get name matches, both partners download the app on their own iPhone. One shares an invite link and the other taps it to connect.
Yes. Solo mode gives you full access to swiping, pronunciation audio, popularity trends, and your own favourites list. You can connect with a partner later without losing anything you have saved.
You can disconnect from the Profile screen at any time. Your swipe history, matches, and favourites are all preserved. If you reconnect later, everything carries over.
Each partner swipes through names independently. Swipe right to love a name, left to pass. When both partners swipe right on the same name, it is a match and the name is added to your shared matches list.
No. Individual swipes are private. The only names visible to both partners are mutual matches. Your "I Liked" tab shows names you loved and your partner's status (not yet seen, loved, or passed), but your partner does not see a corresponding view.
Yes. Suggest a name and it appears in your partner's next few cards so they see it sooner. They still swipe on it independently.
Swipes cannot be undone individually. If you accidentally passed on a name, you may encounter it again if you reset a collection or if your partner suggests it to you.
Baby Names for Couples collects the minimum data needed to provide the service: an anonymous device identifier, your name preferences, swipe history, and partner connection data. No personal information such as your name, email, or location is collected. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Go to the Profile tab, scroll to the Account section, and tap "Delete Account." This permanently removes your display name, swipe history, matches, and connection data from our servers. This action cannot be undone. You can also email us and we will delete your data within 30 days.
If you run into a problem, we want to know about it. When you email us, it helps to include your device model (e.g. iPhone 15), iOS version (e.g. iOS 18.4), and a brief description of what happened. A screenshot is always helpful too.
